FAQ's
Does the Pet 1 Patio Door work with vinyl sliding patio doors?
Yes, the panel works with both aluminum and vinyl patio doors.
How do I know which version I should get for my sliding patio door?
Pet 1 offers two patio pet patio door versions, the standard and the tall. Inside the product pages you’ll find a quick reference chart that determines which one is right for you.
Is the glass in the Pet 1 Patio Door dual pane?
Yes, not only is the glass dual pane but we use tempered shatter-resistant Class A Safety glass. It has an official test rating under ANSI Z97.1.1984. Not only is the glass we use safe, but because it’s dual pane the Pet 1 Patio Door offers maximum insulation.
After installation of the patio pet door, how do I lock my sliding door?
Unlike other patio pet doors, you won’t need to replace or retrofit your existing patio door lock. We’ve taken the age old trick of dropping a wooden stick into your door track and actually provide an adjustable security bar (aka. Charley bar).
Does the patio pet door install on both the left and right hand side of patio doors?
Yes, our patio pet door can easily be installed on either side of a sliding patio door. If your sliding door opens from left-to-right you won’t need to change a thing. If your sliding door opens from right-to-left, just follow the simple diagram in the instruction booklet provided.
Is white the only color available?
At this time white is the only available finishing. However, other colors are possible if there are enough requests. Please let us know what color you would like to see and we’ll be sure to keep record of it.
What is powder coating and why is it important?
Our patio pet door is powder coated and not painted for many reasons. Painting can be uneven, doesn’t last as long, scratches easily, and contain harmful VOCs. We use Interpon Powder-Coating (the largest PC Manufacturer in the world) on all our patio pet doors. This ensures the quality, finishing, and safety of all our products.
